About Me

Hi! I'm Jackie, a trans game developer focusing on Music Composition, UI/UX Design, and Gameplay Programming. I mainly add to my library through game jams, which I do through Michigan State University's Game Design Club, Spartasoft. I've also made a few games for classes within the MSU Game Design Minor, most notably for CAS 117. I also took part in the 2023 GMTK Game Jam.

My video game journey started fairly early, with simple "Intro to Coding" events given at my elementary school. I loved the creation process and being able to make something and see others enjoy it. I continued learning Python in 7th grade, and also found various online game development tools like Flowlab and GameMaker Studio. I upgraded to Unity soon after graduating high school, and have used it ever since.

In regards to music, I've always been very passionate about it. I started learning how to play the piano in 1st grade, and I joined the school band in middle school, playing the trombone. Band specifically inspired me to begin creating my own music in MuseScore, and I spent my early high school years composing with their software. I later found a website called BeepBox, along with a fan mod called Jummbox that, despite being web-based, has a large amount of functionality. Most of my recent music has been produced using Jummbox.
